About Us

Kathy Caitano

Kathy Caitano

Owner, Designer, Framer

I’ve owned my art gallery and custom frame shop since 2007, and as my third business, it’s the one that truly feels like home. I love bringing artwork to life through thoughtful, intentional framing—showing clients how the same piece can take on fifty different moods depending on the materials, style, and budget. Together, we find the combination that honors the art, reflects its owner, and fits the space where it will live. As a woman-owned business, I take pride in the craft, the relationships, and the creativity that shape every project. When I’m not in the shop, you’ll find me spending time with my family, hiking, boating, or exploring new places.

I began my picture framing career on November 13, 1990.  In those 35 years, the most asked question I get is, “Is this worth framing?”  My answer – The fact that you have taken it to a framing shop tells me that YOU think it is worth framing and that is all that matters.  I give every project my full attention even though it takes a little longer, because I take pride in my work.  I am not here to “tell” you how to frame something, I am here to guide you in fulfilling your vision.  I believe in collaborating with you to choose the right presentation for your artifact, so you may enjoy it for years to come.

I am retired from the US Air Force and I have been working in the framing industry for more years that I can count.  I love the design and framing process, seeing how you can make the artwork or artifacts come to life.  My favorite is shadow boxes, especially when it is something that means so much to you.  It’s about explaining the value of framing – several people who have not had anything custom framed can have sticker shock.  But if you think about framing a poster or photograph and the price is $200 to $300 – you might ask yourself is it worth it?  Then you think that this piece will last a lifetime when framed correctly and if you compare that to lets say eating a few dinners out – the value well surpasses the cost.

I have always been into painting and drawing. In 1988 I got my first job picture framing. I now have 18 years of experience in the field. To this day I still learn something new each day and confront new challenges. What I enjoy so much about art presentation and conservation is seeing new art I haven’t been exposed to and being in a position to revitalize and assist in bringing new life to things old, rare and precious. It’s an honor to be one that is given the privilege to do so.

I’ve been working as a professional framer for 10 years, and what I love most is helping artwork truly come to life. As a watercolor artist myself, I understand how much thought and emotion goes into creating something meaningful. That perspective guides how I approach framing—balancing protection, aesthetics, and the unique character of each piece.
