Allyson Gunnell

Allyson began her art journey in 2016 while working as a graphic designer for The Lilypad, a memory and digital scrapbook design studio. One of the designers had recently begun painting She Art, a collection of faces and figures of women built from paint and collage.  Immediately intrigued, Allyson began a year-long class with Tamara LaPorte entitled Life Book.  As a complete beginner, this class offered many options to engage with artists across a variety of mediums.  Here, she found her love of abstract art, collage, and bold mark making. Here, she found life is just better with paint on your fingers.

Currently, Allyson explores bold color and marks on wood panels in her Totems and In the Same Breath series.  Both series employ symbols, harmony and line to tell a story uniquely her own.  Allyson hopes to share her latest artwork to inspire others to “tell your story.”
