Mr. Williams lives in Sacramento, California.  Born and raised in Louisiana, he received his MFA from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.  He has been an artist and designer for over 35 years and is a retired art teacher having taught for over 20 years, at the elementary through college levels.

“My art involves the visual analysis of a word through an abstract composition.  To appreciate my art, a viewer should view it after considering their understanding of my one-word title.  In my work, I seek intelligent compositions that build tension between lines, shapes, textures, colors, and the brushstrokes that I apply to the canvas.  Using a painterly sense of depth, rhythm and movement, I hope to drive symbolic meaning that keeps the viewer engaged and shares the discourse that I am trying to express.”
